Conimbriga

Conimbriga, near Condeixa-a-Nova, is one of the best preserved Roman sites in Western Europe. Part of what makes the site special is that it was eventually abandoned and, as a result, was never buried beneath successive layers of rebuilding and modernisation as happened to at many other Roman sites.
